House Passes 2-week Funding Extension

The House of Representatives has passed a 2-week extension by a margin of 335-91. The extension cuts $4B from existing spending levels and funds the government through March 18th.  The Senate will likely take up the House bill within 48 hours and send it to the President to avert a government shutdown on Friday, March 4th.

The extension bill provides an additional 2 weeks for Senate leaders to pass their version of a continuing resolution funding the government through September 30th, and combine it with the House version passed on February 19th, before sending it to the President for his signature.
