Iowa Senate Passes O&P State Licensure Bill

I was in Des Moines last week working with Rod Cheney and the IPOPA lobbying team to ensure a bipartisan vote on the OP Licensure bill.  I am happy to report that thanks to the efforts of so many across the state, the Iowa Senate voted on Monday to pass SF364, “The Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Pedorthics Practice Act”.  The 37-12 margin builds on the 14-0 committee vote earlier this month and reinforces the bipartisan nature of ensuring Iowans receive the highest quality care from licensed orthotic and prosthetic professionals.  SF364 will now be sent to the Iowa House and referred to committee where we will need to force a vote by April 1st to remain active for final passage later this spring.

OPGA Government Relations will continue to update you on important dates and issues moving forward.  Check out the final text of the Senate legislation here
